Alyssa Waite

Head Women's Golf Coach, Long Beach State

Long Beach Golf Camps is a junior golf development program of AW Golf, founded by Alyssa Waite.

Long Beach Golf Camps was founded by Alyssa Waite, Head Women's Golf Coach for Long Beach State, with a simple goal: give junior golfers access to the kind of thoughtful, individualized player development that helps golfers succeed at the next level.

Alyssa has spent her coaching career developing competitive golfers, building successful teams, and helping players understand not just how to improve their golf swings, but how to practice with purpose, manage the golf course, prepare for competition, and perform with confidence. As Head Coach at Long Beach State, her teams have won conference and tournament championships, advanced to NCAA postseason competition, and developed numerous all-conference players. Alyssa was named Big West Coach of the Year in both 2023 and 2024, and was selected as Team USA Head Coach for the 2024 Toyota World Cup in Japan, where she coached some of the country's top junior golfers in international competition.

Before Long Beach State, Alyssa coached at San Diego State and Portland State, giving her experience developing golfers across multiple successful collegiate programs.

Long Beach Golf Camps is independently operated and is not officially affiliated with or sponsored by any university.

Our Mission

What We're Here to Do

Develop

Help every golfer build real skills through individualized instruction: full swing, short game, course management, practice habits, and mental performance.

Inspire

Build confidence, resilience, and a genuine love for the game that lasts long after camp ends and carries into every round they play.

Belong

Create an environment where every junior golfer feels supported, seen, and challenged, regardless of where they are in their development.

Why Families Choose Us

Why Families Choose Long Beach Golf Camps

Coached by coaches who develop players every day

Our program is led by collegiate coaches (Big West Coach of the Year, Team USA Head Coach) who understand player development, competition, and what it actually takes to improve.

Small groups. Real feedback.

Sessions are capped at 20 campers with a 5:1 ratio so every player gets individual attention, real reps, and a coach who knows their game.

Development-focused for ages 12–18

Our camps are built for junior golfers with some experience who are ready to improve, not just participate. Every session is designed around real player development.

Practice. Apply. Perform.

Players work on skills, apply them in practice situations, and compete, with on-course instruction incorporated into the camp schedule when available.

Coaching Philosophy

We Don't Believe Junior Golfers Need More Information.

They need coaches who can help them understand what matters for their game and give them the tools to keep improving long after camp ends. Whether a player wants to make their high school team, lower their tournament scores, become a more confident competitor, or simply see how good they can become, our job is to help them take the next step. You don't have to be an elite golfer. You do have to want to get better.
